About
NGSSA was founded in the Northshore area near Seattle in 1971 by a group of volunteers with the vision to provide the opportunity for girls of all ages in our community to play and enjoy softball. NGSSA is still staffed by volunteers who enjoy working to continue this tradition. For 48 years, thousands of girls have participated in the NGSSA.
Who We Are
We are all parents of players here(past and present), and none of this would be possible without the amazing group of volunteers that we have to keep this league going for the last 52 years!
Blast From The Past
Meet Russ Porter The League President

I am a New England Native who has lived in the Pacific Northwest since 2001.
I have four Children: three girls and one boy.
My Wife, Pauline, and I have lived in Bothell since 2009.
I have been a part of NGSSA for the last nine years. All my daughters have played for several years in the league.
I have been selling Real Estate in the area since 2016 and love my job.
When I’m not helping to run NGSSA, my neighborhood as HOA president, coaching, running the kids around to various events, etc., I enjoy being outdoors—hiking, gardening, fixing, and building things.
I appreciate our division directors, coaches, umpires, players, parents, and sponsors coming together yearly to create a positive environment for the Northshore community.
Thank you all!
